Cafe Team Member – Part Time
Job Description:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic, outgoing, and customer-focused individuals to join us as a Cafe Team Member. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our customers have a positive and enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're taking orders at the counter, preparing food and beverages, or providing friendly assistance to guests, you will contribute to the overall success of our cafe.
Responsibilities:
● Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor
● Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
● Prepare, bake, and serve a variety of food and beverage items, including sandwiches, snacks, desserts, coffee, and specialty drinks
● Ensure that all food and beverage items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
● Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the cafe, including the dining area, kitchen, and restroom facilities
● Assist with restocking and replenishing supplies as needed
● Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely
● Support the café manager in daily operations
● Collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service and promote a positive work environment
● Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
● Previous experience in a customer service or food service role
● Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
● Eagerness to be friendly and outgoing with our customers and build friendly relationships with our regulars
● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask as needed
● Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and food safety
● A self-starter who takes initiative and completes tasks without needing to be told.
● Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, Saturdays, holidays, and some evenings (as needed) for events and parties
● Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds
● Interest in growing with us as a team member ● Experience in a café, bakery, or coffee shop preferred
● Experience as a Barista is a plus
● Applicants with a ServSafe certification is a plus
Salary commensurate with experience. This position also includes gratuities.
